Poverty Guidelines for 2009

As I said yesterday, 15.7%, or almost 15,000 people in Bradley County are in poverty. Here is a closer look at what that means.

The first number is the number of people in the family; the second is income. So for my family, a family of four, if we made $22,050 or less per year we would be considered to be in poverty.

For families with more than 8 persons, add $3,740 for each additional person.
