Warning: Irreverent Humor Ahead

My kindhearted six year old is beginning to learn about Martin Luther King Jr. While he doesn't know all the details, he can tell you that MLK Jr. did nice things for people, wanted everyone to be treated the same, and that some people hurt him and he died.

So this morning, he suggested in his very innocent way that we have a Martin Luther King party today. Complete with... wait for it... a Martin Luther King Jr. pinata.

Wow. Can you imagine going to the store and telling them what we were looking for? Can you imagine hanging that pinata out on a tree? I can see it on the Fail Blog now, "MLK Day FAIL." Oh, wow.

I kept a straight face and told him they don't make Martin Luther King pinatas.

Wow.

(I feel the need to add that we would never, ever do such a thing and are in no way sympathetic toward those who would. It just struck me as funny.)

Wow! That is very funny. One day you will share that story with him and all the implications will become clear. Thanks for sharing.
